Trying to place itself in a position to help the festival continue, the Pawn Shop and the Downtown Group ran a haunted house fundraiser on Main Street.
Tickets were $5.
Located at the Pawn Shop and leading into the neighboring Good Fortune store, the haunted house had a “visitors from another world” theme.
On a television outside, a mock news bulletin speculates as to the strange happenings within.
Participants were first confronted by space and alien artifacts in a museum setting.
Then, haunted-house workers led them through a labyrinth of dark corridors populated by spooky characters. A surprise waited for them at the end — when a character jumps out of the dark.
Good Fortune and The Pawn Shop owner Roger T. Weinreich hopes the haunted house might be used as an additional fundraiser for the festival beyond souvenir sales in the future.
